ABC Teach This site loads quickly and is user and printer friendly. It has sections for children, teachers and parents.It contains a vast amount of resources and is neatly divided into sections. It has a good selection of fonts although one drawback would be the American version of spelling.

Adream- Schools Portal The Adream project , partly funded by the EU is a portal for all N.Ireland Schools. Every school has been given a web area and it is interesting to look up local schools and see what they are up to. Belmont has its own area on the site with some of our work uploaded . There is also a link there to our main website . So check it all out , just type our schools name in the search window.

Ambleside Primary School Suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2. An interesting web site that has been set up and maintained by Ambleside Primary School (England). It has many features covering all school subjects. The English area is particularly worth a visit. The site provides a free collection of lesson ideas designed for Primary teachers using the Internet in class. Each lesson comes with details of the context, Internet links and resources required as well as details of any Internet related skills that are involved or can be developed. Before being posted, each lesson has been successfully carried out by the staff of Ambelside Primary School. Anti Bully Suitable for KS2 pupils.
A graphic site that covers all common forms of bullying, such as theft drugs trouble in, before and after school. What to do if nobody listens and telling the police are included. The emphasis is on hard facts and practical advice.

News, competitions, feedback and tips. Pages for young people inform and advise teachers' pages cover praise and reward systems and kinds of bullying. Advice to parents .

Art History Network Suitable for KS2 teachers & pupils.
Like the previous site, this lists famous artists, although it is not as comprehensive. The biographies are difficult for children to read but they will enjoy the high quality reproductions.

BBC BBC's excellent site for schools is one of the best sites around for children. to explore .It has lnks to many programmes used in the Primary classroom. Not to be missed.

BECTA Becta is the Government's lead agency for ICT in education. It supports the UK Government and national organisations in the use and development of ICT in education to raise standards, widen access, improve skills and encourage effective management. An excellent souce of practical advice and support for teachers.

Becta Senco forum This web page gives access to VTC educational conferencing areas, which allow you to join electronic discussion groups. The special need area includes the senco-forum. You must register before you can contribute or read archived messages. You will need an email address for this.

Substantial site offers practical advice, tips from former bullies, ideas for combating bullying and help for school projects on the subject. The details on racist bullying could be topical in many schools, given the international situation.

C2K The C2K website has some useful information on our new system including help sheets on the software titles we are using . There is also a section on good practice in ICT and of course Belmont is featured.

Circle Time Suitable for KS1/2 teachers.
Jenny Mosley's site shows how Quality Circle Time can incorporate a positive behaviour-management system with personal and social education. The FAQ section answers many questions and provides contact details for arranging a training course. The site reminds us that Circle Time shouldn't be initiated only if there is a problem.

Funbrain Another great site for children parents and teachers. There are educational games graded according to age and sorted into subject areas. There are quizzes which the teacher can control and can post to the pupils page. The teacher can personalise the pupil's web page and activites. Well worth a look

Funschool Funschool makes learning fun. The site offers more than 300 interactive games and activities for preschool to upper Primary that are fun, easy-to-use, educational activities ranging from matching numbers and shapes for pre-schoolers, to geography, math and history for older children. Although activities are designed to be entertaining, they are intended to communicate educational concepts in an effective manner. Graphics, animation, and sound are not the focus of the activities, but are there to support the academic content being presented.

Kidscape Suitable for KS1/2 teachers.
This site is intended for children but the text size is too small and the vocabulary unsuitable. However, the material for teachers includes useful tips for dealing with incidents .

Ladybird Books This site has stories galore for KS1 children. These stories are varied and an adult or older child could read and share them with a younger child. In addition to these stories there is also a story of the day which is suitable for all young children. Nursery rhymes are also read to the children and it is possible to print off the pictures and rhymes for colouring in. The count and ride game is an excellent activity for the younger children, enabling them to further develop their knowledge of money.
